Every board is finished by hand with a curved gouge, so the ridged surface is slightly different from piece to piece. The texture keeps a wedge of brie or a stack of sliced sopressata from skating around, and the long square handle makes it easy to pass.
The wood is stained a deep brown and sealed with a food-safe oil and beeswax finish. Use it for serving rather than chopping, since knife work will flatten the carving. Brush crumbs out of the grooves and wipe with a barely damp cloth.
