Before a pork shoulder gets its rub, we measure everything out so nothing gets forgotten. This oval board, cut to follow the natural shape of the acacia plank, holds the three included spoons of cumin, coriander and brown sugar side by side.
After the meat is seasoned, flip the board over and it becomes a small serving tray for olives, pickles or sliced sausage. The spoons are carved from the same wood with short handles. Wipe everything dry and oil it lightly every few weeks.
